Tribunal Senator

Overview

During my search to be more involved in my first year, I came across the opportunity to be a Senator for Lindner Student Association. A senator is someone who acts as the liaison between the College of Business and the Undergraduate Student Government. To become one of two students who fulfilled this role, I had to run against others and be voted on by the general body. By end of Fall 2021, I had received the position, started attending meetings, and brainstormed possible ideas for initiatives.
During this experience, I had to devote at least 6 hours each week related to Tribunal activities. Typically this consisted of 3 hours in Senate, 1 hour for Lindner Student Association meetings, 1 hour for office hours, and the last to my Equity and Inclusion Committee. Beyond this, I spent a lot of time working on reports, initiatives, and volunteering at the events set up by Student Government. With this workload, I had to learn time management. It was crucial that as I took up such a responsibility, I was fulfilling it properly as well as all my other responsibilities. This lesson of moderation was one of my biggest areas of growth in my first year. It made me realize how important prioritizing mental health is as a busy college student. Being a Senator also gave me a sense of appreciation for those who work to put together events for the student body. It takes a lot of collaboration and dedication to build a better community at UC. I value my time being a Tribunal Senator as it has taught me crucial lessons and taught me what it means to be a leader.

Tribunal Senator: About

This slideshow was utilized during my campaign to be Lindner Student Association's Internal VP. I wanted to display how being a Tribunal Senator has affected my future and what doors it has opened. Not only has it helped me to find a passion of mine at UC, but it has also given me new ways to help the community. This slideshow captures some of my main platform points and what I plan to do as the Internal VP.
